Trim-out plumbing is the last phase in new construction plumbing. It’s where the plumber installs the beautiful fixtures for your home, such as sinks, showers, and the toilet, as well as hooks up and installs the major appliances, such as your dishwasher and hot water heater.
Do you know why vent lines are important? As the water flows through your drainpipes, it creates a siphon effect or negative pressure. This pushes air in front of it causing positive pressure. This pulls the water out of the trap, causing Slow drainage — Slow drainage is probably the most common sign of poorly-vented drain lines. Gurgling sounds — Drainage is usually not accompanied by noises, so any sounds coming from your drain lines could be a sign of poor ventilation.
Plumbing vent pipes neutralize negative and positive pressure. At least one main vent stack is required for every building that has plumbing when connecting separately to the sewer for the building or its septic tank. The stack has to run the most direct route through open air or be ventilated to extend to open air. Each Fixture is required to have a Vent that would be connected to the main vent stack or additional in preventing negative and positive pressure.
